Let’s start there! Phil Phest was born out of a love for music shared by a group of young kids in 2002. After not being invited to an end-of-school-year party, Phillip took matters into his own hands and created a party of epic proportions, inviting everyone in school! At the time, the local music scene was thriving. With a love for music and gatherings, they decided to throw a local rock show. Stumped on a name, someone suggested “Phil Fest” since Phillip was the primary planner. After some brainstorming, they decided to give it a twist by altering the spelling to “Phil Phest”—and so, Phil Phest was born!

Throughout Phillip’s high school years, the event grew from his backyard to parking lots and local concert venues. Over four years, they held more than eight local shows, each featuring at least 15 bands and drawing hundreds, sometimes thousands, of attendees.

After high school, the music scene started to wane, and the crew went their separate ways. However, Phillip’s passion remained. Over the years, he shifted his focus to community events, networking, and political engagements.

In 2010, Phillip was asked to officiate a friend’s wedding. With his love for public speaking, he jumped at the opportunity and was immediately hooked! This single wedding led to many more, and from this, today’s version of Phil Phest Events was born.

After attending numerous weddings, Phillip noticed how much fun the DJ was having and knew he could bring a unique spin to the role. In 2018, Phillip met his girlfriend, now wife, Sarah. He credits her for inspiring him to pursue his dream of owning an event entertainment company. Phil Phest Events has since grown to offer not only musical entertainment and photo booths but also lighting and special effects—all while staying true to his officiant roots.

Phillip and Sarah married in 2021 and began growing their family. They now have a handsome son, a beautiful daughter, and an English bulldog named Petunia, aka Tuna. They reside in Harford County. They love making pizza and enjoy the outdoors with their children.

As Phil Phest Events continues to grow and evolve, they are proud to provide their clients with an office and showroom located in Rosedale.
